Leading the Circular Economy in Bharatpur, Chitwan
Green Eco Solution (GES) is proud to develop a transformative Sustainable Waste-to-Value Carbon Project in Bharatpur, the administrative center of Chitwan. This high-impact initiative represents a critical milestone for Nepal carbon markets, proving that municipal organic waste in Bagmati Province is a high-value asset. By utilizing automated Black Soldier Fly (BSF) bioconversion technology, we are closing the loop on agricultural productivity while securing high-integrity climate assets.
Strategic Project Pillars: A Blueprint for Nepal Carbon Markets
-
Industrial-Scale Methane Emission Avoidance:
In urban hubs like Bharatpur, inadequate waste management leads to uncontrolled anaerobic decomposition, releasing methane—a potent GHG with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 25. Our Sustainable Waste-to-Value Carbon Project achieves methane emission avoidance levels that are up to 47 times more effective than conventional composting, creating a superior carbon credit product for the Nepal carbon markets.
-
High-Integrity Article 6 & Gold Standard Alignment
To ensure the highest market value, this project is structured specifically to meet Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. We utilize a digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) approach to ensure total transparency. This rigorous focus on Article 6 frameworks ensures that our Methane Emission Avoidance data is investment-grade, providing buyers in the Nepal carbon markets with full integrity.
-
Socio-Economic Just Transition & Green Skills
Beyond carbon, this project is a vehicle for a just transition. We are building a workforce by creating over 1,000 green jobs, focusing on empowering women-led micro-enterprises. By providing professional training in a profitable, circular business model, we ensure that the Just Transition provides long-term economic resilience to the local community.
Project Metrics: Strategic Impact Summary
| Metric | Target Annual Impact | Strategic Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Emission Avoidance | 5,000+ Metric Tonnes | Methane Emission |
| Carbon Credits | High-Integrity ITMOs | Article 6 Readiness |
| Output | Protein Meal, Fertilizer & Biodiesel | Circular Economy Growth |
The Bharatpur model represents a definitive shift in methane emission avoidance, mitigating over 6,000 tCO₂e annually. By institutionalizing the diversion of 5,000 tonnes of organic waste from landfills, we effectively de-risk municipal sanitation infrastructure while delivering Article 6 compliance for international climate finance transfers.
